Cardiff Super Connected Vouchers Scheme
Cardiff’s Super Connected status means that local businesses, specifically small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and homeworkers, will each be provided with funding for the provision of high-speed reliable and affordable connectivity. Over the next two years the city centre will also be providing improved 4G access and free wireless and some residential properties will also be benefiting from the scheme. All of this connectivity delivered by a world-class digital infrastructure.
Through the Super Connected Cities scheme the UK Government will fund a one-off connection fee to eligible Cardiff businesses through Cardiff Council from £250 up to the value of £3,000. This is usually enough to pay for all the work and as it’s a grant, you don’t have to pay it back. You just pay the VAT, any amount over £3,000, and the monthly broadband subscription cost.
This funding can only be used for the connection itself; it won’t subsidize or pay for any monthly charges, it will only pay for the installation of ultrafast broadband.
